THE STORY OF EO CYPRUS
It all began with relocation. Several EO members from Russia and other CIS countries found themselves in Cyprus for various reasons — from the climate to geopolitical shifts — and felt the need for the connection, support, and growth that EO provides. Surrounded by sun, sea, and the island’s relaxed rhythm of life, it felt only natural to envision a new kind of entrepreneurial community — one that could match the vibrancy of the setting and bring like-minded people together in a meaningful way.
Throughout 2022–2023, a few of these entrepreneurs, already familiar with EO’s values and format, started gathering informally — meeting in cafes, sharing experiences, discussing business and life challenges. Slowly, a question arose: why not create a full-fledged EO chapter here in Cyprus?
And so, in 2023, the process of building EO Cyprus officially began. A small group of dedicated founders took on the task of launching the chapter — from bringing key entrepreneurs together to liaising with the global EO organization. The first forums were held, speaker events organized, and the Accelerator program was introduced. A strong focus was placed on forming a core group of members who not only embraced EO values but were willing to invest in building the community from the ground up.
Cyprus turned out to be the perfect setting. It’s a unique island where the Middle East meets Europe — a place where diverse cultures and diasporas naturally converge. Israelis, Cypriots, Greeks, Russians, Ukrainians, Belarusians, Lebanese, Egyptians, and Brits all find a home here. This diversity, paired with a robust business infrastructure, an English-speaking environment, and a business-friendly tax system, makes Cyprus a fertile ground for global entrepreneurship. EO Cyprus became a hub where founders from different worlds could meet, grow, and support each other.
By the end of 2024, the chapter received its official charter. It brought together entrepreneurs from all walks of life — not just newcomers to the island, but local Cypriot founders and internationally minded business owners seeking community and connection.
Today, EO Cyprus is more than just a chapter. It’s a magnet for entrepreneurs across the Eastern Mediterranean — a place for growth, meaningful relationships, and honest conversations. We’re proud of how organically our community came to life — and we believe this is just the beginning.
